A SQUIRREL THINKING DEVIOUS THOUGHTS…

I blame a fellow blogger for this post…He had to go and mention squirrels thinking devious thoughts and look what happened….a squirrel had a devious thought! It’s all your fault El Guapo!

Once upon a time, yesterday, there was a devious squirrel…It was too close to the raccoon nest and I had to wonder…Was it plotting to somehow sneak in around “Mommy” and harass the baby or babies?

The raccoon mother was awake a mere 30 seconds before this and probably still was…how she did not hear this squirrel approach I’ll never know. Luckily for the squirrel, she wasn’t aware…this could have turned out very badly for the devious squirrel!

Oh looky! A mother raccoon…being the devious and not very intelligent squirrel that I am, I think I shall investigate further!

Darn it…I need to get closer…I can't see past all that pretty fur.

JUST AN INCH OR TWO MORE AND I CAN BE AS DEVIOUS AS I WANT. ALTHOUGH…I THINK I SEE SOME REALLY, REALLY, SHARP TEETH ATTACHED TO ALL THAT PRETTY FUR.

YES…I'M LEAVING…THOSE TEETH LOOKED REALLY DEVIOUS…AND BESIDES…ZANNYRO JUST PUT OUT SOME MORE PEANUTS!

  1. Grey squirrels are native to North America and were first released in the UK in 1876 in Henbury Park, Cheshire. It’s not clear why they were introduced and the Victorians had no idea of the risks of introducing non-native species.

They carry a disease called squirrel pox which does not affect them but kills the native Red squirrels. There are only a few areas left in the UK with Red squirrels, mainly in Scotland.

      1. The Victorians have a lot to answer for. They brought Himalayan balsam, Japanese knotweed and Rhododendron from the East and these plants have caused havoc. They are difficult to get rid of.

  2. Great pics. Sometimes when I go walking, there are a couple of nasty looking squirrels that run out on the sidewalk at me. Practically stop my heart. I’m pretty sure they’re devious and planning something…

Thanks for stopping by my site. I appreciate it!

Yes…some of them are very intimidating…some of them are scared to death if they see the smallest glimpse of me.
You inspired me to pull out a brochure that I was given by an editor. I’m totally stuck on the fence about pursuing a publishing house or just self publishing…the manuscript is done, and has been through some preliminary editing already…but what to do…sigh…that is my dilemma…start the process wit the editor..or createspace. Tough, tough decision for me.

      1. I’m still trying for the traditional route. My first novel was published by a small press, but they’re mostly e-books, and I still had to do the majority of marketing myself (though they’ve been great to work with). Of course, even with a traditional publisher, unless one is Stephen King, one must market him or herself. Sigh.

  3. This is a magical capture, but could have turned out bad for the squirrel, I’d have thought… inquisitive little critter that could have ended with a puncture wound or two I’m sure, glad he turned around rather for the nuts that had been put out for him…
