The clouds go marching by (1 of 1)

OK…I’M OUT OF CLOUDS FOR NOW….

CLOUD…

Cloud 1 (1 of 1)

I’D PROBABLY LOSE ALL OF MY FOLLOWERS….BUT I DO LOVE “SHOOTING THE SKY’…or at least looking at it…

ONE MORE SUNSET…..

SAILING IN THE FIRE

Yes, once again, I was planted in the sand waiting for the sky to fill with color. This was the only time of day that it wasn’t TOO hot…I’m not a girl who deals with humidity well, usually I just want to fall over and hope someone drags me into the shade…but this time of the day?, when the breeze is balmy and the wind is soft?…Heaven.

ANOTHER MOMENT WITH JOE…

A few weeks back, I posted a picture of “Joe” looking beautiful and dignified. It was a wonderful moment. He also gave me THIS sort of wonderful moment…

SUNSET STRIKES AGAIN…

Be patient with me….you may have to put up with a few more sunsets than you’d care to see…Once again, no tripod….I’ll never learn….just adjusted the exposure and removed some dust…otherwise….what you see is what you get, Zannyro doing everything in too big of a hurry.

LIGHTNING BOLT SUNSET..ACTUALLY NO LIGHTNING BOLTS WERE USED BY MOTHER NATURE...JUST SOME TOTALLY WILD CLOUDS. all rights reserved.

I visited Bob a week or two ago…well I actually visited with all of the horses…we walked the fields and I decided to use Bob as a picture frame again. Just a lazy hour with the horses…the best medicine ever.

BEAUTY…

We haven’t had too many dramatic sunsets lately…very, very clear days and without clouds….there’s not likely to be the “WOW” factor…last night we got to say WOW!!

THE LONG RIDE HOME…

My trip home was something else….notice the foggy conditions in the first image? I was supposed to depart at 5:30 a.m on Monday morning….at 2:30 a.m., I got a call from my husband saying that my flight had been delayed until 1:30 p.m……Since I was already up and dressed
I decided to go to the airport to make sure my new schedule would work…

Turns out I was going to miss all of my connections…and I wouldn’t be able to get home until WEDNESDAY!!! Considering the fact that I was supposed to fly to Florida on Thursday, it was a little disconcerting to think that fog could mess up my flight again on Wednesday….

The wonderful people at Delta airlines worked and worked and finally came up with a plan to get me to Indianapolis by 10:30 Monday night….but hubby would have to drive two hours there to pick me up and then we would have to drive two hours back home…..temp. around 0 degrees and an even lower windchill…..we arrived home at 1 a.m…..by the time I went to bed I had been up 23 hours…

The good part…Delta flew me back first class on the three hour leg of the trip! Sometimes it pays to be very calm and nice when things aren’t going well…..the last image is of the mountains surrounding the airport in Salt Lake City Utah… no matter the difficulties, it was the best, after all, after almost two years of not seeing my son and daughter-in-law..I’d do it all again in a heartbeat!

NORTH BY NORTHWEST….

I can’t resist taking shots out of the plane windows….winging our way..

North by Northwest….not eating chocolate..COOKIES!!

MEETING RENATA….

I’m going to insert a few images here that cover a few days of Isaac…

Grey skies, blue skies, intrepid surfers..(crazy, every last one of them)..

And then there was the day that I met Renata……

I started out for a walk…looked like the worst was all over, and I thought I’d look for some scenic beach images….so off I went, down the beach…

STARTING OFF ON MY ADVENTURE…NOTICE THE TREES…

I wandered quite a distance….hearing stories from other beach walkers of a frantic scramble to place newly hatched sea turtles into the crazy gulf waters…Their nest had been disturbed by the high waters, and they were prematurely introduced to the world…should have been during the dark of the night…We have to block all light from our homes during all dark hours so that the newly hatched loggerheads will head for the water and not the lights of human creation….

I enjoyed the next hour very much….collecting a few shark’s teeth and watching the surf wash in, creating swirling patterns of water and foam…and then I turned around….

OH….MY…..LORD……

The sky had gone from blue to “Yikes ! ” in just a few moments…it had been doing that for days….and there I was…a long way from shelter, WITH MY CAMERA!!!    I grabbed the baseball cap from my head…(I had stuffed all of my crazy curly hair up in it), and covered the camera.  I began trudging through the sand as quickly as I could, back the way that I had come…I had decided to head back to the shelter of the trees that I had passed at the beginning of my walk…as you can see,  the trees were a LONG way back down the beach….

The wind began to pick up and I caught up with a woman walking ahead of me…she turned and looked at me and said ” What the @$#^ is going on!”  I told her I didn’t know but that I was heading for the trees..and I kept going….I looked back and she seemed to be heading back the opposite way..where there was no hope of shelter.

As I got closer and closer to the  trees, the rain began..the wind was blowing at an incredible speed and I had to grab hold of “sea oats” and pull myself along the edge of the water, it had roared in up to the vegetation….You’re supposed to be careful of the sea oats, but at that point if a machete had been available, I would have used it to clear a path…

Upon reaching the trees, I moved as far back from the shore as I could and found a circle of smaller palms and trees to take cover in…I looked back at the Gulf, and I saw the woman that I had passed on the beach!  She crowded in with me  in our somewhat protected area..but we were both soaked to the skin. She said she had tried to go back the way that she had come, but decided it was too late….she said, “to be honest, I thought this was a tornado”…….We waited for the storm to move through, and eventually it did…I looked and my camera was DRY!  Thank goodness for that baseball cap…of course I looked like a drowned poodle, but better me than the camera.   My new friend and I made our way back out onto the beach and began the trip back to the surfing area…..before we parted, she turned to me, shook my hand and said, “I”m Renata”.

So there you have it….Meeting Renata.

A WINDOW INTO THE SKY…..

Instead of images from my “window into the woods”, I thought I’d show you

two images from “a window into the sky”……not the best..but shooting

out of an airplane window…well…

BELOW THE CLOUDS ABOVE THE CLOUDS

Today is dark and dreary…so I thought a little blue sky was in order….
I thought today would be kind of a downer and then I saw that the bald squirrel
was back..so not so dreary after all. Here I am, when I should be working on a dozen other
things and I’m pondering how this squirrel went bald…

A knock-down, drag-out hair-pulling domestic disturbance?

An unfortunate run-in with a machete wielding raccoon?

Too little Vitamin A?

He stood too close to the stove?

Male pattern baldness in squirrels?

Acid rain?

Enough! I need to get on with it…..NO MORE LOOKING OUT THE WINDOW!!!!!!!!!!!
