HELLOOOOOO Turkeys!

8304 Flock of Turkeys two WM work (39 of 1)

So it’s official…I’m a fan of turkeys. Not to eat. Well I do like to eat turkey, but don’t tell them that.

The little turkeys of spring are all grown up. I can’t tell Betty from Joe, LaDonna from Jim, Zizzle from Hans. It doesn’t matter about their names, I love them all…they’re like the turkey children I never had.

I can tell you all kinds of things about turkeys now…I’ve spent a lot of time the past couple of weeks watching them traipse back and forth through the woods and they’re fascinating. One attractive trait…they’re very kind to each other. I’ll share some more turkey traits with you later. But for now, enjoy the lovely wingspan that gets displayed after a nap. (They take a LOT of naps.)

I AM CHARLIE…

1490 Blue Jay Study

BLUE JAYS… SMART, QUICK, CLEVER, BEAUTIFUL…FREE.

THE “CALL” THAT IS MOST ASSOCIATED WITH THEM, IS LOUD…MENTIONED OFTEN AS A “JEER”.  THEY MAKE THEIR PRESENCE AND OPINION KNOWN.  THEY USE THIS JEER TO WARN OTHERS IN THEIR FLOCK.

THEY ARE BRAVE…THEY FEAR NO OTHER BIRD, TAKING ON HAWKS THAT ARE FOUR TIMES THEIR SIZE.

THEY SOAR THROUGH THE AIR AND FLY HIGH TOWARD THE HEAVENS.

I ASKED THIS GROUP OF BLUE JAYS WHAT THEIR NAMES WERE…

EACH ONE ANSWERED…”I AM CHARLIE…I AM CHARLIE…I AM CHARLIE…I AM CHARLIE.”

I AM CHARLIE.

NOW YOU SEE WHAT THEY SEE…

Now you see what they see

BEFORE ALL OF THE SNOW RUDELY FELL ON US, I CAPTURED A FEW MORE IMAGES OF THE BUSY BLUE JAYS…I IMAGINE THEY KNEW THAT THE COLD AND SNOW WAS ON THE WAY, SO THEY WERE HARD AT WORK.

WHEN I CAME ACROSS A SERIES OF BLURRY LOOKING IMAGES, I ENLARGED THEM AND THERE I WAS!

CAN YOU SEE MY HAND, MY ARM, THE CAMERA?
