THE TUNNEL SQUIRREL…

I had a visitor today….I could almost hear him say…Ten inches of snow?….I laugh in the face of ten inches of snow…HAHAHAHAHA!

I must apologize…this was shot through a window…so it’s clarity is lacking..

I’M BACK BOB!…

After being gone for five weeks…I was anxious to visit Melvin, Bob and the rest of “The Boys”…For those of you who haven’t met Melvin and “The Boys”..Melvin is the most wonderful man, he is 85 and still gets out every day to let the horses out in the morning…and back into the barn every evening…I wrote my book “Being Bob”, about Bob and the herd…had to do something with all of the pictures I’ve taken of them.

I decided to stop over early yesterday before the snow storm came..(it brought us 9 inches)…
When I first walked up to the fence Bob was the first one to come to the barn door…but, he took
awhile to size me up…

Slowly he left the barn and stood and stared at me, as if to say, “Is that you?”

I think he finally got me figured out, because over he came to see me!

He let me pet him and say hello and then the rest of the boys came out of the barn..circled me a bit and then, single file, they walked over to the adjoining pasture…so of course I followed “the muddy men”…

I don’t know if they were glad to see me or what..but Bob and Mac started to play..they went zooming past me back to the other pasture and they played and played…then they raced back to the other pasture and got so rowdy that Mac FELL DOWN!!…before I could move he was back up and they were playing again..such a treat for me! ( Now don’t worry, they don’t hurt each other…it’s just play).

Before I knew it, I needed to head home and as I started to walk away, the herd left what they were doing and followed me back to the barn…Bob came over to be petted one more time and as I did, he reached down and nuzzled the camera and gave my scarf a little nip.

As I left the yard and chained the gate behind me, Bob stood and watched me…….and of course I got a little emotional…what am I going to do?…I love this horse…

Yes…I am boring you with yet another egret image…BUT!…..I went to visit Melvin and the horses today!! ( For my newer followers, Bob is a Haflinger horse that I wrote a “picture book” about…it’s called “Being Bob”)…I’m having internet problems…it’s a long ridiculous story…but anyway, hopefully by tomorrow I can show you the pictures of my visit to see Bob and “The Boys”….It was snowing and I don’t think Bob recognized me at first…but it didn’t take him long and then things got interesting….

You need to weigh in on the argument we’re having at my home…as you may have read, we have a house full of ninja mice….I’m going shopping for a ninja kitten….BUT….there is a lot of demand that I stop feeding the birds AND SQUIRRELS!!…thereby reducing, hopefully, any temptation for the mice to take up lodging inside the house…BUT…I’ve been gone for five weeks…no feeding was taking place…and still we were invaded…

I hate to give up photographing the birds AND SQUIRRELS!!…Share your thoughts and ideas with me….please!!
