It’s been so much fun watching birds enjoying our birdbath. It took a few days for the birds to discover the water and now they’re loving it!
We’re taking distancing very seriously, Hubs has some health issues at the moment, and he’s had time to discover the birds. “There’s a whole world out there that we don’t even know exists.” I gave him my, “I’ve been telling you this for years look.” Seriously, I’m just glad that he’s had the opportunity to appreciate the birds, the deer, the turkeys, etc. Seeing him enjoy it has been fun for me.
I hope all of you have had some positive experiences during these trying times.

You’re welcome! When they’re drinking water, I always think that it must feel good going down. We’ve been having 90+ degree days, and had no rain for quite a while. I’m glad I have a bird bath for them.

A bird pool is great, it is so fun to watch. We have seen tiny birds queuing to our pool. A crow washed his food, a magpie cooled his tummy. And then taking a bath, like in your slides, they really do it properly.

We put a birdbath up about six months ago and it took a long time for anyone to show any interest. A few finally did, but mostly sparrows (no surprise there) and the occasional blackbird. We keep hoping it will eventually appeal to the Tui that we love so much.

I looked up images of the Tui…what a gorgeous bird! Don’t give up hope, I’ve seen birds come that I didn’t even know lived in the area.
