Posting a picture of myself is outside of my comfort zone…I like how easy it is to take care of. I have no idea how I got the courage to let the gal cut it..I know what you mean about changing a hairstyle..it’s scary!
I have been busy becoming an empty nester :(. My oldest moved out to his own apartment and my youngest is now in residence at university. I cried a lot, but I must say it is nice having less laundry and groceries to buy :). The nice thing is that they are in the same city which is only an hour and a half drive away, so we can easily go for a visit. Andddddd, my youngest has a girl at home here that he likes so he came home this past weekend. I like to think it’s because he misses me, but it’s really because he misses her LOL. I know I need to get back into blogging, but I just haven’t found time for it lately. What’s new with you?
Oh boy….I’ve gone through what you are experiencing and it’s hard…very hard. Hang in there….It took me a long time to come to terms with my empty nest episodes, but after they came back and left and came back and left again a few times I find myself guarding my empty nest…I LOVE my empty nest…I never thought I’d say that!
I’m struggling to keep blogging..I have three other projects that I spend time on and I get very frustrated. I seem to procrastinate terribly over finishing the editing on my murder mystery…I have NO idea why…that’s the biggest frustration.
We are also busily “live trapping” chipmunks and pine squirrels and even a bird! One of these creatures did an expensive amount of damage to hubby’s car…so I catch them, drive them about a mile away in the live trap and release them in an area that has trees, etc., like we do here.
So here’s my two cents worth of advice that you didn’t ask for. Don’t be sad, they need their mom, even though it may not seem like it. Try to plan things to look forward to, that helps a lot and remember that in time you might just LOVE your empty nest! xxxx
Excellent words of advice :). I knew you would understand. Although I miss them terribly, we are planning things, just Mike and I, and that’s really nice for a change. We were the type of parents who planned everything around our kids, so when it came to vacations, we never went anywhere without them. Now, we can plan for us, and we have booked a week in Costa Rica in January, and in October we are going away for the weekend for the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk. This year we decided to head a few hours north so that we can hopefully capture the Fall colours and make a nice weekend out of it. Thanks for understanding my friend :).
I love the new do!
