I’M LOSING THE BATTLE. ALL SORTS OF NINJA ANIMALS HAVE COME TO CLAIM THE BIRD FEEDING AREA AS THEIR OWN.
THIS CUTE LITTLE FAMILY OF DETERMINED RACCOONS PERFORM ALL KINDS OF STUNTS IN ORDER TO ACQUIRE AND INHALE WHATEVER BIRDSEED HAS BEEN LEFT BY THE OTHER ANIMALS. THE LITTLE GUYS DON’T QUITE KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH A PEANUT IN THE SHELL YET, SO THEY JUST KIND OF PUSH THEM AROUND WITH THEIR PAWS.
THE CHIPMUNKS ARE WRESTLING WITH EACH OTHER OVER THE FOOD AND DIGGING HOLES ALL OVER THE PLACE.
THE PINE SQUIRRELS ARE SMACKING AROUND THE LARGE GRAY AND FOX SQUIRRELS.
THE BIRDS ARE PRETTY KIND TO EACH OTHER. THEY SEEM TO HAVE THE BEST MANNERS.
AT NIGHT WE HEAR THE NINJA PINE SQUIRREL FAMILY RUNNING BACK AND FORTH SOMEWHERE IN THE ROOF/CEILING AREA!!!
IT’S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL THEY WORK THEIR WAY DOWN INSIDE THE CHIMNEY AND SIT AT THE TABLE TO WATCH US EAT. I SHOULD PROBABLY GO SHOPPING FOR SOME TINY LITTLE FORKS, KNIVES AND PLATES.

I haven’t fed the birds in over a week. Every time I fill the feeders the raccoons and possums eat all the birdseed.

TheRacoons look cute. I’m surprised that the Victorians didn’t bring them over to the UK like they did with thje Grey Squirrels.

The raccoons can spread disease in their “waste” and they can be vicious…I wouldn’t want to try to make them a pet…although some people do.

Ah the problems of trying to feed the multitudes. Those are very handsome bandits. Maybe you should just start feeding them, too. You could have the entire wildlife population of your area quite literally in the palm of your hand. Think of the great pictures you would be able to take!

Sigh…the wildlife population has gotten out of control…today I had to take down the bird feeder. boo-boo-hoo. I’m now going to try to teach the blue jays to fly to my window and line up waiting for me to hand feed them a peanut…hehehe!

They can be cute. We had one as a pet when I was a kid. Trouble followed. They want to get into buildings to find food. Our next door neighbors had to have their attic space cleaned and re-insulated following some that inhabited it.

I’m not trying to scare you. Just don’t invite them in too friendly a way. They overstep their boundaries.

I actually wear disposable gloves whenever I handle anything that they may have come in contact with. I decided this evening that the bird feeder days are over. At least the ones that they can access. I have one that they haven’t managed to figure out.
The droppings were a problem when the mother had the babies still living under our deck. That seems to have stopped now that they have moved into the woods.
