I ran around a lot in the early evenings in Florida…Enormous, fantastic clouds would roll in and later the storms would cut loose and go crazy. Given that it was around 97 degrees during the day, the storms were to be expected. Did I mention that it was hot when I was there? HOT, HOT,HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I FELT LIKE A BAKED POTATO MOST OF THE TIME…
I never tire of the glorious towers of cumulonimbus clouds boiling up…then as evening descends, sniveling veins of fiery red and rosy lightning split through them, flashing on the glazed surface of the sea below, transfixing any baked-potato viewer. Endless beauty. Wonderful shot!! Best wishes,
smiling toad

I sat here reading along and admiring the brilliant way you described the “life” of these clouds and then got the treat of an unexpected laugh when you mentioned the “baked-potoato viewer.” Well done!

Hope you had fun. Personally I hate the heat and humidity of Florida and can’t understand why people choose to live there.

I hate it too! I could never be a full time resident….winters aren’t bad and the water in the gulf feels like bath water this time of year. But I really don’t venture outside in the afternoons…once the shade is gone, so am I!

I always like the way it rained at the same time every day when I was there. Promptly at noon. For 45 minutes. Then, the sun came out again. Very tidy.

The rain arrived later this time around…It waited until after sunset and then WATCH OUT!
