HELLOOOOO THERE!

5880 Well, hellooooooo (1 of 1)

THE DEER HAVE STARTED COMING AROUND AGAIN…THE WAY THAT THEY ACT MAKES ME WONDER HOW MANY OF THEM ARE THE GROWN BABIES OF “MAMA” THE THREE LEGGED DEER.

WHEN I WAS TAKING PICTURES OF MAMA AND THEN MAKING THE BOOK ABOUT HER, I NEVER GAVE MUCH THOUGHT TO THE FUTURE DEER THAT WOULD VISIT BECAUSE OF HER. I KNOW THAT THEY GET USED TO LOCATIONS WHERE THEY FIND FOOD AND RETURN, BUT SOME OF THEM LOOK IN THE SAME WINDOWS THAT SHE USED TO. I HAVE AN IMAGE OF HER WITH HER THREE FAWNS THAT TURNED OUT TO BE ALL BUCKS. THEY’D STAND AND LOOK INTO THE WINDOW WITH HER AND SAY HELLLLLOOOOO.

I’M HOPING TO HAVE SOME HAPPY LITTLE ONES COME TO VISIT THIS SPRING, IT’S ALWAYS NICE TO HAVE PURE JOY SCAMPERING AROUND YOUR YARD.

  1. No doubt the word is out about you. All the critters know. There are probably signs hidden in the woods, pointing the way to your yard. And btw, that second picture has got to be the most adorable fawn pic I’ve ever seen.

    1. Hubby calls them “the visitors”..I hope we get more in the weeks to come…I feel VERY lucky, sometimes I take it for granted . Not a good thing.

  2. You have created a special place in your yard that they feel so comfortable sharing it with you. Not only that, you’ve all created a bond that makes them want to know more about you and so they peer into the windows. So cool!

    1. 🙂 It’s a very special experience…when “Mama” was getting ready to give birth to the baby in the last photo, she tried for about an hour to find a comfortable spot in the back of the yard to have the baby. She just couldn’t get comfortable and finally went in search of a better spot in the woods. Amazing to watch her that late afternoon, hoping against hope that I’d see her give birth.
