WHEN THE WOODPECKERS COME IN FOR A LANDING, EVEN THE TOUGH GUY BLUE JAYS MAKE ROOM FOR THEM.
IF THEY DON’T LEAVE RIGHT AWAY, THEY GET A SCOLDING.
IF SCOLDING DOESN’T WORK…GETTING HOPPING MAD SOMETIMES DOES. PRACTICALLY SCARES THE FEATHERS RIGHT OFF OF THEM.
That Woodpecker looks like such a bully. I can see that the Blue Jay is not impressed.

Not too impressed…but when push comes to shove, the blue jay walks away from a fight.

That first shot looks like they are doing a graceful ballet. I don’t suppose we have put a tutu on a bird yet…

No, we have not put a tutu on a bird…I will ponder that idea….

Wow, amazing shots … I can hardly manage to get a bird that are sitting still. And the colors – excellent series, Suzanne. I think the nature shows a lot more respect than we humans do.

Thanks Anneli! So much action that day…I think they were all eating as much as they could to prepare for the cold weather that arrived tonight.
