THE BLUE JAY DECIDES TO RID HIS KINGDOM OF THE RED-TAILED HAWK…
I THINK WE NEED TO SEE A CLOSE-UP OF THIS…
JUST IN CASE A LAWSUIT IS FILED BY THE HAWK.
I DON’T KNOW, WHAT DO YOU THINK?
DID THE BLUE JAY MAKE CONTACT?
I NOW HAVE A WHOLE NEW LEVEL OF RESPECT (AND FEAR) FOR BLUE JAYS.
That is one brave little blue jay. I would think the hawk would make mince meat out of him. Well, he could at least make him drop his peanut.

I don’t know why the hawk doesn’t retaliate…but it doesn’t. You must speak to the hawk about the dropping the peanut part…the hawk needs to have some self-respect and protect his image as a tough guy.

What a series! Never underestimate a mad bluejay or mocking bird…or even an organized group of little birds. Can’t believe you caught all this…..yes, you will probably be called to testify as a witness in court…

I have a dozen or so in my backyard right now competing for peanuts with the 8 grey squirrels. They are a hoot to watch.

Photographic proof that blue jays are completely insane and should never be messed with. Even if *messed with* is defined as just sitting there minding your own business.
Very cool that he didn’t lose his peanut though… 😀

Yep…poor hawk…not bothering a soul, just “being”.
If I had to, I imagine I could go to battle with a hershey bar in my mouth and retain possession of it.
