“DON’T MESS WITH MY KIDS….I’LL COME RIGHT OVER THERE AND PULL YOUR NOSE….I KNOW THEY’RE CUTE AND YES, THEY ARE HONOR STUDENTS IN KINDERGARTEN AND YES, I DO HAVE A STICKER ON MY BEHIND THAT SAYS, “MY KIDS FANGS ARE SHARPER THAN YOURS”, BUT DON’T JUDGE ME. NOW GO AWAY AND LEAVE US ALONE SO THAT WE CAN GET READY FOR ‘WORK’.

WE HAVE TO START TAPING OUR REALITY TV SHOW IN ABOUT AN HOUR AND THEY NEED TO FINISH EATING SO THAT THEY HAVE THE STRENGTH TO FIGHT AND SNARL AT EACH OTHER AND WALK AROUND PRETTY MUCH NAKED…YOU KNOW, LIKE THOSE OTHER PEOPLE ON THE SHOWS….HOW ELSE ARE WE SUPPOSED TO MAKE A LIVING?? WHAT’S THAT YOU SAY?, WHEN WE ACT LIKE THAT WE’RE NO BETTER THAN ANIMALS?  WELL NOW THERE’S A THOUGHT…..

  1. How cool! 🙂 we have a lot of raccoons but I don’t see them out during the day time only at night. I have several trail cameras and catch the raccoons all the time.

I enjoyed your site so I an now following you!

    1. Glad you enjoyed the blog! I never used to see the raccoons in the daytime, but this year, for some reason, they’re out and about when least expected.

  2. Oh my, what a great backyard entertainment opportunity (sell tickets)!
You are going to be an expert witness soon … do raccoons live up to their “get into trouble” and “bandit/robber” reputations?

By the way .. your header image of the diving chipmunk is amazing!

    1. The raccoons definitely live up to their reputations….They can figure out how to get into almost any container AND they’re vicious fighters!

    1. They are NEVER coming in for a visit! The mamas seem to move them under the deck for a short period of time and then it’s off to learn about the woods!

      1. If they are spending a lot of time and leaving their droppings, they ought to be carefully cleaned up and removed. They carry and and can transmit disease. One in particular is baylisascaris. http://www.cdc.gov/parasites/baylisascaris/index.html

The article gives good information as it is from the CDC. See the links in the central part of the page for more info.

I’m not trying to scare you. I’ve just seen how much mess they can leave. They don’t clean up after themselves. 🙂

        1. Thanks for the info….The raccoons never leave a mess on the deck…underneath the deck may be another story, but there’s no way to access that area…. we are very careful…no one walks on our decks barefoot and I wear rubber gloves when handling branches, bird feeders etc….
