A WINDOW INTO THE WOODS
(INTO THE WOODS AND BEYOND!)
Superb photos of the birds and i love them a lot.
Thank you so much! I do love the birds…they’re such simple beauty..
Now I’m straightened out. It’s a female cardinal (in disguise because her topknot is lying down), and the first one is the grackle (which I mistook for a crow but is a cousin). That was a good bird lesson for me today. We don’t have either of those birds here.
Yay!!! You have met some new birds! 🙂
Wonderful pictures. Better than the ones in any of my bird books. Maybe you should make your own bird book!
WOW! Thank you! High praise indeed!
I love that orange beak with the matching feathers. Quite the ensemble.
Little Miss Cardinal knows how to dress!
The top two could happily take captions like, ‘Get lost!’ or ‘Drop dead!’
Awwwww. Mama Cardinal.
I know…she’s such a cutie!
Oh wait. The colours don’t match exactly on the bird’s back and tail…. I can’t find any other bird that has a bill like that though. Any idea what it is?
I believe it’s a “grackle”…what a name!
Those black so-and-so’s in the first pictures would gladly eat the babies of the red avadavat below.
Lovely birtraits Suzanne 🙂
hehehe! Thanks Colline!
Nice birds! 🙂
Thanks! 🙂 🙂
