I LOVE THE WIND…
This woman seems to be thrilled with the strong winds from Isaac……
I LOVE THE WIND, I REALLY, REALLY DO !!
The question is….does the wind love her?….
TODAY IT WAS HOT…..
Today was a day, just like oh so many days we’ve had this spring…HOT HOT HOT!!
We’re in a terrible drought…trees dropping their leaves like it’s fall, lakes
dropping to very low levels..
I don’t know what the temp was today,,somewhere in the nineties again….
so today it was time to take action…or as much as we can take action…some
areas of town have watering restrictions…we are on a well, so it’s our call.
I watched the squirrels this morning and the hotter it gets, the more they use
their tails as little sun umbrellas to keep cool….the hotter it gets, the lower
their tails get over their heads…
Late this afternoon I saw something that just broke my heart….
Two robins who were obviously over heated….the longer I watched them sit with
their beaks open…to help cool them….the more they started to lean over toward
the ground…they seemed to be really close to….I don’t know…collapse?, death?

They were holding back, watching the squirrels in the bird baths, not daring to
come too close to them…but you could tell they really wanted to get to the water..
I found any somewhat flat container that I could and filled it with water…then hubby
came home and turned on the lawn sprinkler…he’s my hero…within a short time, there
was a female cardinal simply sitting in the gentle spray and not too long after, the
robins found the water….tomorrow I buy ANOTHER bird bath !!

TEN THINGS TO CONTEMPLATE WHILE KITE SURFING…
Had fun last week watching feats of “daring-do” on the high seas!
These kite surfers are amazing!! When I first saw them doing this, I thought they
were holding on to the kites with their bare hands….DUH….the kites would have
been gone in one second flat……this has to be the most amazing feeling!
Now I thought about how it would actually feel, and what my thoughts at that
moment would be, and here they are….
1. I AM GOING TO DIE….
2. DOES MY REAR END LOOK SMALLER WHEN I’M HIGHER OFF THE GROUND?
3. THIS HELMET IS GOING TO RUIN MY HAIR.
4. DID I FORGET TO FEED THE CAT THIS MORNING?
5. I WONDER HOW LONG IT WILL BE UNTIL THEY FIND MY BODY?
6. I JUST KNOW MY HUSBAND IS GOING TO REMARRY WITHIN SIX MONTHS.
7. DOES IT REALLY FEEL LIKE YOUR HITTING CONCRETE WHEN YOU HIT THE WATER AT HIGH SPEED?
8. WHILE THE PLASTIC SURGEON IS REPAIRING MY FACE, AFTER LANDING, I WONDER IF HE COULD DO
LIPOSUCTION ON MY THIGHS?
9. DARN……. I FORGOT TO USE THE BATHROOM BEFORE I LEFT THE HOUSE.
10. IF I JUST LET GO FOR ONE SECOND, I CAN REACH THAT CANDY BAR IN MY POCKET…

TEN FISHY QUESTIONS.
This little guy was getting a fishing lesson…and he caught a nice one!! The best part of
watching this whole process was when he did ”catch and release”….however, we always
taught the kids to GENTLY place them back in the water…A woman who had also been
watching commented .. “well, now he’s gone and made the fish dizzy”.

Now there’s something to ponder..
Do fish get dizzy?
Do they get headaches and feel the need to go lay down with a cool drink?
Do they use moisturizer because people are always saying…”ewwwww, your skin is really scaly”.
Do they ever choke on water and say, “That went down the wrong pipe”?
What do they do when they get the hiccups? ( We always gargle with water, then quickly bend over and swallow the water..presto!…no hiccups..)
Can they gargle?
How do they keep their teeth so clean?
Do they ask their friends, does this seaweed make my fin look fat?
If a group of fish is called a “school of fish”, how do they carry their text books?
Do fish get sunburns, and if they do, would you call it a “fish fry”?
These are the things that keep me up at night.

BACK TO REFLECTING
I found myself drawn back to the Ten Acre Woods where the horses spend so
much of their time…I did get awesome video of them and I’ll post that soon.
The day was gorgeous and the woods, serene as always. I captured these
images and I hope you’ll enjoy them..The color was so different from my
previous visit and I found myself captivated. Hope you enjoy! I have no idea how all of this techno babble appeared below some of the images, but I am
powerless to correct it..i.e., technology impaired. Sorry

THE SENTINEL…..AND DO I HEAR A TIPPY TIPPY TOE?
Today I feel like I really accomplished something! While I wasn’t looking, the woods silently
crept up on the guardian of my little nature sanctuary. Last year I realized that my beloved
sycamore tree had been captured and claimed by the woods! I have watched “Mama”,the three
legged deer rest under this tree. One afternoon, I watched “the girls” and little baby tri
stand under the sheltering arms of the sycamore and try to decide if it was safe to
approach me..(they did).
This tree just holds a special place in my heart. When I reflect on things in my life.. whether
I’ve been near or far, I like to think that I’m always standing in it’s watchful, protective
shadow. It simply represents home.
So TODAY,,,I reclaimed it from the woods! It now stands apart, just a bit, so that all who
see it knows, this tree is something special…
So here are some images of my beloved woods…

Let’s all whisper it together….the little bald-headed squirrel.
Even now, I am tippy toe-ing around…so that you can’t hear me…making my little
preparations for the crowning of the little squirrel with THE HAT! And the SECOND hat…
and the THIRD hat…do not give up on us…the fun is about to begin 
REFLECTIONS OF TIME
Imagine holding a crystal globe in your hands that contains all of the colors of a golden
day. The colors shimmer and glitter inside of the globe. It almost seems as if a whisper of the wind
could scatter those colors and carry them to each and every heart.
You can see from my earlier posts, that I saw such colors and felt that whisper of the wind. These are the colors, can you feel the wind?
