HERE KITTY KITTY…
Somebody tie me down…I’m ready to jump in the car and drive back to see the Big Cats…I don’t know what it is about them, maybe I was a lion tamer in a former life..but if I bought into that explanation for the pull I feel for the cats, then would that mean that I was also a cowgirl in the past?…(my love of horses)…a ballet dancer?…(my issues with a pink tutu)…the owner of a chocolate factory?…( my addiction to chocolate)…a shark?…(my obsessive compulsive disorder when it comes to collecting shark’s teeth..22,000 and counting)…
Maybe I was Ansel Adams in a past life…(everybody stop laughing)…was I a beautician?…(well those who know me would know THAT is impossible)…
was I a Vegas entertainer?…(that would explain sitting in a giant pumpkin at Halloween and throwing weird gifts at my guests)….was I some kind of commando?..(my desire to sneak around in black clothes and a ski mask).
No driving to see the Cats today….I’m going to pretend that I was Ernest Hemingway in a former life…lock myself in a room, (which everyone will appreciate) and write….well here’s hoping anyway….

Funny, every blog tonight reminds me of a current theme on my scribbling. I dealt with a serval cat (big one!) character in Forest Circle Quest, and now I have some far bigger cats in my latest Tabika novel. Now you are super-kitty fixated. Coincidence, or are they planning a takeover?

Suzanne… welcome to the club… I get stronger withdrawal symptoms from not seeing the Cats and Elephants than I ever got from giving up drinking when an alcoholic… I can even go without my chocolate if it means I can go to the parks to find the elusive lion elephant and other big five of our country… What is it about these animals I don’t know, maybe an association with their power and stature in the animal kingdom… I so look forward to our winter for that is when we go hunting with the cameras in as many parks as we can get through in the time available… but yes the Lion… the most magnificent beast alive…
God .. I still want to see you pop out of a pumpkin in a tutu throwing chocolates at people all over… I’d pay a high price for that…

I use a Nikon D300 with an 80-400 mm telephoto lens..The Big Cats live in Sarasota Florida, so if you google it, you can get directions, hours for visiting, etc.

Thanks for the info. I saw a full size photograph of “Handsome” on the Sarasota website; and, he is exactly what his name implies. Maybe I can visit him on my next trip when I’m down in that area.

It’s well worth the visit….it isn’t like DisneyWorld all beauteous and such, but definitely an awesome experience….
