THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I DON’T POST FOR AWHILE….
Pelicans…..I’ve been watching pelicans…..I spent an hour today reviewing and deleting images of pelicans….500 to be exact…Here are a bunch to make your head spin…and they’re not even that good….don’t blame me…I’m seeing pelicans in my sleep, so I’m not responsible for the less than sharp images……
Here is a description of what is happening in these images…although you can pretty much see that for yourself….so in no particular order…
Pelican caught a fish…seagull wants fish..
Pelican has the fish…seagull says “whataya got? whatya got?”
Pelican still has fish…seagull tries to take away fish…
Pelican has a headache..from seagull jumping up and down on his head.
Pelican works hard…seagull is lazy and has the nerve to ride around on the pelican’s head…
And so on and so on…until another Pelican comes along and together the two Pelicans chase off the naughty, rude seagull.
End of Story.

Love these shots.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!

Thank you!

The seagulls are nuts. The stupid tourists feed them at the beach. They learn their lesson soon if you know what I mean. Look out ! Once my friend and I were fishing off the pier casting with small bait fish and they would swoop toe get the bait before it hit the water. So instead of having fish for dinner we had “chicken”.

Quite the kerfuffle!
February 5, 2013 at 8:11 pm
Wonderful shots.
Obviously the gull believes the old rhyme:
A wonderful bird is the pelican;
His beak can hold more than his belly can.
He was hoping for the excess!
February 5, 2013 at 5:15 pm
Thanks! They must get some of the excess sometime!
February 5, 2013 at 5:16 pm
The nerve of tose birds, not flying in and out so they could be in the optimal photogenic position!
And I thought the beach was supposed to be relaxing.
Sheesh!
February 5, 2013 at 4:50 pm
Relaxing….it’s just tension, tension, tension all the time…and you nailed it…just no consideration at all for the photographer…why you actually have to pay attention and be quick about things….I’m going to march up and down the beach with a sign and protest….
February 5, 2013 at 4:54 pm
So no sense of sharing in the bird world?
February 5, 2013 at 3:32 pm
ummmm….NO!
February 5, 2013 at 4:55 pm
I love watching pelicans. We have them all year here. In the summer they are joined by English gulls and in the winter by boobies.
February 5, 2013 at 2:05 pm
They live here all year, but unfortunately I don’t, lol! I’m so glad to see them when we return…..the house we had before was away from the beach and we didn’t see them there.

Amazing capture of the action!

Great captures once again..
February 5, 2013 at 12:30 pm
They’re out there calling my name again…hold me back!…I told myself today would be “taking it easy day”..
February 5, 2013 at 2:00 pm
Any day with a camera in your hand is an easy day… come and help me, I’m busy with the Beta testing of my program… 18 hours a day entering details facts and figures and then trying to figure out if it is calculating everything right, and getting the right answer… my breaks are quick looks at blog posts and that is about that… and to think I’ve still got at least 10 more days of this… found some issues that need correcting .. and then one starts all over again…
February 5, 2013 at 2:58 pm
Boy, that seagull sure does have guts!! I was waiting for the pelican to turn around and snap his huge bill down around the seagull’s neck LOL

MURDER ON THE BEACH!!!!!!
February 5, 2013 at 2:01 pm
Hey, maybe you could do a new book about the friendship between a pelican and a seagull (you’d have to leave out the murder part though LOL!!).
February 5, 2013 at 6:00 pm
Cool….you’re right though….the murder part probably wouldn’t go over real well.
February 5, 2013 at 6:12 pm
LOL

Love the pelicans. Those seagulls are SO determined; they aren’t afraid of anybody or anything!
February 5, 2013 at 11:49 am
Gutsy little devils!!
February 5, 2013 at 2:10 pm
Very nice! At the end the seagull has its comeuppance
February 5, 2013 at 9:24 am
It took awhile, but yes, finally some justice
February 5, 2013 at 2:11 pm
Love the story going with the photos. Lazy seagull (although I thought you were going to say the second pelican took the fish from both of them)
February 5, 2013 at 7:53 am
LOL! That would have REALLY started some trouble!!
February 5, 2013 at 2:11 pm
Great!

I was clicking away TOO quickly…lots of bad shots!
February 5, 2013 at 2:14 pm
The beauty of digital – you can pick and choose without the cost of developing all the photos that didn’t turn out. A godsend for a shaky amateur like me – a convenience for you.
February 5, 2013 at 5:06 pm
That was one cheeky seagull! They are great photos – they tell a little story, well done!
February 5, 2013 at 4:34 am
