THE MONTANA DOG…
So now you’ve met Daisy, who wore me out, throwing pine cones for her to chase…we even put one in a tree, but she retrieved it….she belongs to the boy in Montana…or should I say, he belongs to her…My Grand-dog.
Notice the big tall black boots with the spikes in them up against the wall in the last image? Also the jackets and pants hanging on the wall?…Those are the accoutrements of a “Timber-faller”….”accoutrements”..Look at me using big words…la-dee-dah!

Dear Daisy…….she looks so full of the joys of spring, even in winter.

LOL! She really does look full of joy!

Thank you! She is SO happy

Chesapeakes are very tough dogs and this one looks like he enjoys being outside even if it’s cold. Nice cabin/house. I love the look of wood on the walls and floor.
January 25, 2013 at 11:46 pm
Daisy LOVES the outdoors….If I could I would build a house, not quite like this, but a very “western lodge” kind of house….it would be so perfect on the property we live on…very “woodsy”.

January 25, 2013 at 7:18 pm
Grand-dog! My sister always talks of her “grand-dogs” too.
She’s a beauty and looks like she loves the snow…or just about anything relating to life!
January 25, 2013 at 6:32 pm
There you go….she is just all enthusiasm !! She’s the most unusual dog…at least I haven’t run across a dog who eats the tomatoes in the garden before…
January 25, 2013 at 6:35 pm
Daisy looks like a pleasure! … and I think this fits.
January 25, 2013 at 5:22 pm

January 25, 2013 at 4:22 pm
She’s just awesome….you got it exactly right!…”I’ll go crazy in the snow and then luxuriate in front of the fire.”..
January 25, 2013 at 6:19 pm

Daisy is a beautiful dog. I just love her expressive, intelligent photo in the first picture.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
January 25, 2013 at 12:42 pm
I loved that intensity too…..and on top of that, she’s so affectionate…unusual for a Chesapeake Bay Retriever…they’re quite often a one person dog…
January 25, 2013 at 2:37 pm
What a gorgeous dog… but wheres his coat and boots.??… Damn but it looks too cold for me there… The first photo is so good.. tongue a panting as though hes tired… what did you look like… tongue also panting??… Now I have a picture of that in my mind… and I’m sure you can see the laugh in my eyes and the smile on my face just thinking about it…
January 25, 2013 at 12:02 pm
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! I was kind of panting….she looks like that because I had been throwing her toy for her to grab out of the air, for about a half hour….she can go forever and never stops….she’s a chesapeake bay retriever….unstoppable..
January 25, 2013 at 2:39 pm
That dog can dance a mean twist! Wotonerf is a timer-faller?
January 25, 2013 at 12:02 pm
Ooops….spelling error!….He is a “timber-faller”….They used to and still do, call this a “lumberjack”…..He works for a company that cuts down dead, burned trees for the Forestry Service….
Every year pretty much they have wildfires, or the state of Idaho does, and they go do cleanup work…..little trees and BIG trees !
A mother’s nightmare…
January 25, 2013 at 6:23 pm
Oh, I know lumberjack. ‘I’m a lumberjack and I’m OK …’
I don’t know if you have ever heard that comic sketch/song.
January 25, 2013 at 8:20 pm
I never have!
January 25, 2013 at 8:21 pm
The Lumberjack sketch
(One of my favorites!)
Awesome photos of Daisy!! Especially that first one!

LOLOLOL! Alex sent me a different version, but I really love the surprise ending on yours, LOLOLOL…THANK YOU!
January 25, 2013 at 10:34 pm
Oh Suzanne, you’re learning big words – I’m so proud of you. I have to admit I had to look it up
, and wow the boy in Montana does dangerous but exciting work doesn’t he? As for the photos, Daisy is adorable, but my favourite shot is the one of the coats and boots. It just conveys such a country, homey feel, and a horseshoe coat hanger – that is just too cool!!
January 25, 2013 at 11:40 am
I is ed-ee-cated you know! It is dangerous and a mother’s nightmare…but…………
The last is my favorite also…..the only thing missing from that image is his well worn suspenders…..he got a new pair from his brother and sister and he said he was going to throw the old ones out……..I said “OH NO!”….”Can I have them?”…….so as you can see they’re not in the picture….they went right into my suitcase and when I got home, I took them out and smelled them…yep, you read me right….and you know what?….they smelled just like Sam…….almost cried…I’ll post a picture of them
January 25, 2013 at 6:27 pm
I would have done the same thing! It’s hard to be far away from our babies. When my boys were little, they used to promise me that they would live with me forever, but I know that is one promise that will get broken
.
January 26, 2013 at 12:46 am
Beware of promises made by our babies……..but it’s funny, once they’ve left us, the special things they do and say become even MORE precious
January 26, 2013 at 3:18 pm
Ooh look atthe playfulness in those eyes
! Sweetheart!
