I have today made some bird food cakes in order to lure our birds a little closer so that I can take more photos of them. Wish me luck too!

I did get a lovely photo of a wren the other day that I was pleased with

Good luck today !! Getting them closer helps SO much..now if they could just slow down and rest so that we could get our shots!!

          January 8, 2013 at 1:58 pm

  10. Zanny, your Mr friends are just so beautifully coiffured! Mr Little has just stepped out after a fluffy blow-dry while Mr Red has the sculpted look, perhaps with some product in his locks to maintain that look. Apart from that, these are magnificent photographs!

    January 8, 2013 at 11:32 am

    • I love your descriptions of their “look”..lol ! I’m so glad that you liked them :)

      January 8, 2013 at 1:42 pm

      January 8, 2013 at 1:45 pm

  14. When I grow up(!) I want to take photos like these!

  19. Pat

    Fabulous close-ups!

    January 8, 2013 at 12:40 am

  20. Good Grief! May I ask what type of lens you are using to manage to get this amazing detail?
I’ve been taking (duh well trying to take) my first bird photos of birds on our balcony and my results are light-years away from yours (and not in a positive way) I have SO much to learn!

    January 7, 2013 at 10:36 pm

    • LOL! I use a Nikon 80-400 mm lens….It takes awhile to get the hang of anticipating their moves…that helps a lot…also shutter speed…gotta be really high..

      January 7, 2013 at 10:38 pm

      • Thanks zannyro,
A lens like this is now on my list for my saving fund :)

        January 8, 2013 at 5:09 pm

        • :) It’s an awesome lens!

          January 8, 2013 at 6:24 pm

  21. Wonderful pictures. Well done :-)

    January 7, 2013 at 10:34 pm

  22. If I had all your bird photos I’d draw a tree on my wall and make a collage of the birds on its branches. It would be so beautiful. No wallpaper could compete.

    January 7, 2013 at 10:28 pm

    • LOL! There, you have just given me an idea on how to become a trillion-aire….I’ll make bird wallpaper!

      January 7, 2013 at 10:36 pm

  23. Two of my favorites. Made me smile and the photos are lovely!

    January 7, 2013 at 10:14 pm

      January 7, 2013 at 10:20 pm

  25. Sono stupendi, bellissimi e le tue foto fantastiche.

    January 7, 2013 at 9:53 pm

  26. What can one say but, ‘Awwwwww!’

    January 7, 2013 at 9:50 pm

  27. Considering the size and the weight of the lens, (in comparison to the huge telephoto lens
before Digital camera) your images is incredibly sharp if not optimum. (still lens can produce such symmetric beautiful Bokhe (out of focus image = on the twig)

    January 7, 2013 at 9:42 pm

    • I keep on trying to get sharper…but….with birds…a little bit of a challenge :)

      January 7, 2013 at 10:22 pm

  28. Beautiful Captures – thanks for sharing! Happy Monday:)

    January 7, 2013 at 9:21 pm

    • Hi!

I almost didn’t include Mr. Little…didn’t seem sharp enough..

      January 7, 2013 at 9:07 pm
