IT’S O.K. HONEY…STICK YOUR HAND IN THIS SHARK’S MOUTH…..
I should say that this shark lived a LONG time ago…..I imagine that the only thing that comes close to the size of this thing is a great white today….but I may be wrong….if you know better, please educate us all….I love to learn something new. I spent quite a bit of time this past week shark tooth hunting and only found around fifty-five…but I’m o.k. with that…I’ve had lots of good luck other times….just glad that I didn’t meet up with a shark with a mouth HALF the size of this one…I’m also happy that I didn’t meet up with the owner of that giant eyeball that they found washed up on shore in Florida last week….eeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkk! It would have scared the tutu right off my head!

Perhaps it’s a little “off” to mention this, but a surfer was killed by a Great White off the Southern California coast this week. I’ve been just so bothered by this all week, so to see those jaws really brought home the power! And I’ve heard you speak before about searching for jaws teeth! I wouldn’t even know where or how! Fascinating!

That is just TERRIBLE!! Just awful!! I stay on the beach to search for them…in Florida,,south of Sarasota, sharks teeth are more plentiful…depending where you are..Venice and south past englewood..or Manasota key is where you’ll find a lot…On Manasota Key, depending on the time of day, they are washed onto shore so fast that you can hardly keep up with picking them up as the waves leave them behind…but that is not all day long…it’s kind of a mystery and just a lucky guess if you’re there at the right time….There are scuba divers that go out from shore in Venice..and they see the sharks all of the time..but there are no great whites there as far as I know..but there are Bull sharks, hammerheads, tiger sharks, etc….I would NEVER go into the water like that to hunt for teeth that lodge against a drop off ..finding them on the edge of the water is good enough for me…

I’d love to find some sharks’ teeth!
October 26, 2012 at 2:18 am
Every time you find one, it’s a thrill!

I hate the term “bucket list,” but if I ever start one, shark tooth hunting will be on the top of the list.
October 26, 2012 at 2:23 am
I hate that term also……..

I was looking at how jagged those teeth were from bottom to top. There is no way once those chompers clamped down you could get away.
October 26, 2012 at 2:10 am
Nope…you’d be toast..
October 26, 2012 at 2:18 am
That’s quite big, Suzanne. Not as big as the ancient Megalodon, which grew up to 16 metres in length, but scary enough if you were to come up against that set of teeth in the surf.
October 24, 2012 at 9:55 pm
I actually have a “baby” megalodon tooth that I found about ten feet from shore..just lying in the sand, in about four foot of water…I would NEVER have wanted to meet “the big one”…

Interesting indeed. Shark toofy pegs are not things I have hunted for or knowingly found. Maybe a good idea to do scuba with a dentist, holding forceps and saying, ‘Open a bit wider,’ at intervals. THAT would scare them off!
October 24, 2012 at 8:24 pm
I would never be brave enough!
October 25, 2012 at 2:17 am
You would if you were a dentist, though! ‘Left upper fourth: extraction,’ you’d mutter, and the sharks would flee, screaming.
October 25, 2012 at 8:57 pm
aha!
October 26, 2012 at 1:03 am
That is a big jaw…can’t imagine the size of the whole thing
You made me go look for the eyeball in Fl., pretty amazing, but is true that it looks like a giant squid’ eye…so probably nothing new.
What do you do with the shark teeth? necklaces?
October 24, 2012 at 7:56 pm
Right now I just display them in a glass top table that we have in the living room…but a teacher has found out about them, and I may be taking them to school for “show and tell”….I need to find out how to make necklaces with them…I think it’s fairly easy and i’m getting so many that I could probably part with a few
October 24, 2012 at 7:59 pm
How cool would it be if you had a great white that visited your backyard and frolicked with the deer and the squirrels!
October 24, 2012 at 4:34 pm
Oooooooooooohhh…the HORROR!!!! I suspect there would only be frolicking the one time………………..
October 24, 2012 at 5:18 pm
Just another reason to appreciate the ocean from the sandy beach…
October 24, 2012 at 3:48 pm
If we wade in, even one foot in, we’re watching for sharks…..we’ve had one show up two feet away from us……
October 24, 2012 at 5:19 pm
Yes we saw that eyeball. Good you only met the teeth
October 24, 2012 at 2:55 pm
SCARRRRRRYYY!!
October 24, 2012 at 5:19 pm
Now I just wondered how you got a hold of my false teeth… that’s my spare set, I’ve been looking for them every where…. now you also mentioned an eyeball I lost mine whilst swimming the other day… not to mention my false leg and arm…
Keep out of the water Suzanne, you might just be pulling shark teeth out of your derriere.. then you’re going to need more than a tutu…..
October 24, 2012 at 1:43 pm
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!….ouch!………you’ve had a bad run of luck, losing all of these important body appendages…
October 24, 2012 at 5:21 pm
How did I miss the eyeball? I will have to seek it out.
October 24, 2012 at 1:14 pm
It is BIGGGGG!!
October 24, 2012 at 5:24 pm
The eyeball was disgusting wasn’t it? I could not take my eyes off it though. How many shark teeth do you think you have? I think 55 is a lot!
October 24, 2012 at 12:22 pm
For real, I have 21,684 as of today..
October 24, 2012 at 5:25 pm
OMG!!!!!!!
October 24, 2012 at 7:04 pm
LOL! Yes,,,it’s true…
October 24, 2012 at 7:14 pm
… yet the second pic is the one that got my attention! But it did remind me of the great Land Shark SNL skit … which unfortunately, I couldn’t find.
October 24, 2012 at 12:17 pm
I still love this video Frank…..eyahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My daughter grabbed the second image with her iPhone…those things are amazing!….one of the few images of the elusive Sharktooth hunter, zannyro.
October 24, 2012 at 5:27 pm
