I’d say that camo gear is working out fine. Great shots.
Is it me or does Trace look too thin for heading into winter? Is that ribs I am seeing?
September 24, 2012 at 12:11 pm
Yes…She’s thin….I’ve seen this before with “Mama”..the three legged deer that I wrote my book about…you can see in the images how TERRIBLY thin she got the year that she had her triplets…She even lost a TON of fur…but she kept coming back..and I fattened her up..She lived many more years.

Thanks Colline…with fall coming, it’s becoming a very busy place.

So beautiful, Suzanne. They really earn their corn, in absolute cuteness.

Wow glad to see the triplets… all looking strong and healthy… love the photos…

When I fed the deer here, I was dismayed at how greedy some of them were and how they had no compassion at all for the weaker ones, pushing them away from the food. It was definitely survival of the fittest, even when the food was a handout.

Nice set of pictures!
I wonder how many other creatures wandered over once the deer left…

In the spring the raccoons charge right in…I have a feeling Dapple, the one being chased off, came back right away..she usually does. Unfortunately for me, because they ate so much, I have to go back out in the dark in a minute and spread a little more corn..Dash and her little fawn, Rocket, were out there earlier and they usually come back during the night.

Awwww … they may be chow-hounds but they’re so pretty. Lovely images you captured, my “deer”(no pun intended).
September 24, 2012 at 1:57 am
They’re really cute right now..if “Mom” chases a deer away…they get all charged up and prance around..trying to act tough..LOL, Thank you my “deer”…pun intended.

Great shots, I’ve never seen triplets at that age! Thanks for sharing!

Glad you liked them! They’re just about all done with their little spotted coats..only a few spots left now.
