VISITING BOB AND MELVIN…

No doubt, you can guess that this image wasn’t taken this summer…but early spring…when we

still hand green grass….

Bob was having a lovely day, the bluebirds were singing and I was a happy girl :)

I visited with Bob and Melvin again just recently…and surprisingly, yet again, Bob walked

right up to me and laid his head up against my leg…ever so slightly…It was high in the 90′s

and the horses had a fine sheen of sweat on them…They went to the woods first thing, but

came back to the barn…too hot even in the woods…

Melvin called out to me to stop back in the house before I left..he had a book he wanted

to show me….it was a scrapbook from 2000…showing pictures of Melvin

working in the field with a team of horses, even some horses pulling a sleigh!

Loved visiting with Melvin…but the house must have been 100 degrees and I

was wiping sweat off my face like crazy…Melvin didn’t even break a sweat and he

was wearing coveralls!!!   I think he’s a better man than I am!

BOB DOESN’T EVEN ACT LIKE THE CELEBRITY HE IS…HE’S STAYED HUMBLE.

  1. Ah, Bob is a beauty. I think ordered my book. Sigh… Have to check. This senility is rubbish! I was thrilled to get my hardbound copy of “My Mother Can Do Anything”. Thanks.

  2. Since you shared Bob with us in your delightful book, now I love him, too! He is a love, isn’t he? And I don’t know what happens with older folks and temperatures! My grandmother could tolerate insufferable heat in her house and still think she needed a “light” sweater! I’m not getting any younger…wonder when that kicks in! :-) Debra

    • I’m so happy that so many people love Bob!! I’m wondering if I’ll tolerate heat someday…it really knocks me out right now!!

  3. Bob is beautiful…like you, I share a love of the forest – mines in the UK – and though I don’t ride, I’ve always though horseback must be a wonderful way to see it :-) Lovely post.

  7. Oh so nice to see Bob. Seems like Melvin doesn’t mind the heat. Take a fan with you next time … the kind that Scarlett O’Hara used :-)

  8. I think Bob is the kind of horse any kid would love to own.

I can just imagine the heat in the house.

    • I was literally dripping!! Bob would be such a good horse to own…..Melvin is actually looking for someone nice, to buy one or all of the herd…it will kill me.
