  2. Well, hey – my tree’s my tree & by the looks of that bird – he’d be a right terror if there was a squirrel nest. I say – go squirrel, go!

    • Those crows have a very healthy respect for squirrels..I suspect there have been some unpleasant moments..the squirrels are “top dog”. :)

  3. Well, you never know – that bird might have been wanting to eat his peanuts. You know, the ones under the hood of hubby’s Corvette… that he backed into with the pick-up truck when it was only two weeks old…

    • heeheehee…there’s a lot of room under the hood of a corvette. :)

  6. Never cut down a dead tree there is still thousands of things going on inside, love the story and photos.

    May 10, 2012 at 7:02 pm

    • Oh rest assured, we have TONS of dead trees in the woods….I think this one will have to fall down…on it’s own :)

      May 10, 2012 at 7:45 pm

  7. Great shots! Your window into the woods is just phenomenal. How’s Baldy?

    May 10, 2012 at 5:46 pm

    • Baldy’s good! In fact…that was Baldy that went after the chipmunk!! I really don’t want to cut this tree down even if it is dead…the animals and birds love it!

      May 10, 2012 at 5:55 pm

      • We have a dead one, too, but don’t get squirrels or chipmunks in it. Woodpeckers! I think it’s great how you can have this relationship with your animal friends. They’re just so cool!

        May 10, 2012 at 5:58 pm

        • I find them fascinating! Makes me wonder how much I missed before I started paying attention, LOL!

  12. I thought chipmunks were docile things. Sad but short story, I saw two fighting a few days ago, and one killed the other via bite to the neck. Was totally out of the blue. :(
