CAN YOU TAKE IT??? THE SQUIRREL -O-MENTARY TAKES AN INTERESTING TURN….

Well,,,I thought with the “crowning” of the little bald-headed squirrel, we had finished our
Squirrel-O-Mentary. Well I thought WRONG!! As I was casually strolling by my window
into the woods today, I was SHOCKED!, yes SHOCKED! by what I saw take place!!!!!!

Apparently there is a KING OF THE SQUIRRELS!! Gasp!!

THE KING OF THE SQUIRRELS...BERNIE
all rights reserved

He had picked himself a lovely tulip,,and was preparing to pluck the petals, playing the
“she loves me, she loves me not” game. I ran to get a better shot with my camera
which had somehow mysteriously appeared in my hands…THE KING! THE KING! I shouted,,the dog
cared not. By the time I reached a better vantage point, HE WAS GONE! But in his place
was A MONKEY!!! WEARING ONE OF NIA’S HATS!! Well I was SHOCKED! SHOCKED! I tell you!
(I must apologize to “the Good Greatsby”, he had a post where he was “SHOCKED” about
EVERYTHING!!,,and I loved it!)

HOW did he get one of the hats? Had the dog let him in when I wasn’t looking? It doesn’t
matter…I was SHOCKED! I later learned his name is Philippe..he is originally from France,
but was swept up by a large albatross, carried ACROSS THE WORLD..and dropped into our
woods…I must find a banana.

PHILIPPE THE MONKEY...WEARING NIA'S HAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As I stared at him in amazement, an ASTONISHING thing happened!! Baldy charged from the
woods and tried to wrestle the hat off of Philippe’s head! You CAN NOT imagine the fear
that I felt for Baldy, and also for Philippe, as he was starting to grow on me.

IT'S MINE I TELL YOU!! NIA MADE IT FOR ME!!!!

After a short while the screaming stopped,,(mine, not theirs) and Baldy seemed to be trying to
reason quietly with Phillipe.

SHE JUST THINKS I WAS BEING NICE...I REALLY SAID, "GIVE ME THE HAT
OR I'LL PINCH YOUR NOSE!

I turned away briefly to stuff a sock in my mouth,,,(I felt another scream coming on)
and when I turned back…THEY WERE GONE!! Well! You can imagine my panic, my fear,
my hunger…I’m out of chocolate…I raced from one end of the house to the other..and then
it hit me…..OH NO!!!! NOT THE ROAD!!! PLEASE!!! NOT THE ROAD!! you know
how squirrels are about a road..for those of you not familiar, let’s just say
they seem to get a strange joy out of tempting fate,,they like to see who
is faster….them or the poor unsuspecting nitwit driving madly down the road.

I RAN to the road…with my camera…AND THERE THEY WERE!! My heart was in my throat,
I could barely manage to gather my thoughts together enough to take a picture..but of
course I did…They told me they were off to get ice cream… a banana split to be exact..
with extra peanuts!

a

And just like that…they drove away!

OFF TO GET A BANANA SPLIT...

As they say…ALL’S WELL, THAT ENDS WELL… OR SO I THOUGHT!!!

An hour later I notice a great uproar in the woods, and saw our magnolia bush violently shaking!!
I crept outside for a closer look,, AND I COULDN’T BELIEVE MY EYES!!

The squirrel king had reappeared..and he was NOT HAPPY. :(
He had seen the fighting over the hat and he thought that Baldy
and Philippe had both been acting immaturely. He felt they
had been an embarrassment to the animal kingdom…but MOST IMPORTANTLY..
they had not brought him back any ice cream..

I don’t know WHAT occurred in that magnolia bush..but I would guess
that Philippe might need more than ice cream to patch up THIS
disagreement!

THIS DOESN'T LOOK GOOD....

I must stop with this post now..I am TRAUMATIZED!!! It is all too much for me..pardon me..
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY CHOCOLATE ????? IT’S AN EMERGENCY !!!!!

(Till we meet again,heehee) :)

    April 13, 2012 at 6:26 am

    • I’m getting such great feedback..Thanks so much for letting me know what you think :) The chocolate thing….gotta pull back…but if I DO find a supply, you’ll be the first to know..then you’ll have to come save me from myself :)

  12. Wow – I almost thought there was a happy ending with them driving off to get a banana split. I sure hope (not) things get cleared up. And by not wanting them cleared up, I really just want the story to continue. Am willing to send copious amounts of chocolate if needed.

    April 13, 2012 at 5:19 am

    • Start sending that CHOCOLATE!!! On second thought, copious amounts are not necessary, but a small donation of chocolate would be appreciated. Could you possibly find a chocolate squirrel? Monkey?

I think there may be more developments to this story-line….:)

    April 13, 2012 at 1:42 am

    • Thank you! Both of my books so far, have had their “lessons” so I’m sure there’s one in here somewhere :)

    April 13, 2012 at 1:07 am

    • LOL! Thanks! “Rascals” totally fits :)

      April 13, 2012 at 3:22 am

      • Our yard is full of “rascally” chipmunks. It makes our two little dogs CRAZY. They do not understand that the little guys disappear into well-planned holes in the ground. It’s almost ridiculous! I wish I could capture it on film like you can!

        April 13, 2012 at 3:26 am

  16. Hahahaha these are adorable and super clever! Hahaha I love them!!

    April 13, 2012 at 12:56 am

  17. Oh Suzanne, you have outdone yourself this time. That was the best instalment yet!!! Even my 15 year old and 19 year old now run out to my computer when they hear me laughing hysterically about a new squirrel adventure. They try to pretend that they are too cool for this silly fun, but they can’t wait to hear me read it out loud! I am exhausted from laughing now and must go raid my kids’ Easter chocolate. Shhh, don’t tell them! :)

    April 12, 2012 at 11:33 pm

    • hahahahahahahahahahahaha!! I’m SO glad that you liked it! AND especially that your kids like it! WONDERFUL!! I will not tell a soul that you’re raiding that Easter chocolate..you know,,the whole, “honor among thieves” thingy.

Glad I did… I will go to bed with that enormous smile on my face that will probably be there the entire night till I have to go up tomorrow. And for a book: JUST DO IT! It’s a great story for children and for all adults who were able to cherish the child within them. xoxo

  21. What a wonderful way to end a busy day – with a tea in my hand and some fun reading. Loved the story Suzanne – and so would small children. That type of story would appeal to their sense of humour. I can imagine reading it to a group of kindergardeners and them screeching with joy at the antics of Baldy and Philippe.

    April 12, 2012 at 9:23 pm

    • Yay!!! They have been fascinated by “mama”, and I think they’ll really like the book about Bob,,but there’s just something about making them laugh :) ….I have a book fair that I’m reading at in a week,,,think I’ll run it past them too!

  24. I have no idea how you think of these wonderful adventures or manage to photoshop them so well, but I have to tell you…they are the cutest stories I’ve seen in a long time! Perhaps another book? :-)

    April 12, 2012 at 7:47 pm

    • Well thank you!!!!! I have no idea where these ideas come from…I see a little something, and it’s “off to the races”,,each little idea leads to another and another and another..If I’m having fun, watch out!, it just rolls on and on.

It’s really funny that you said that about a book, because right now I’m SUPPOSED to be starting to self-publish my book about my friend the horse…Bob. It’s all ready to go,,I don’t know why I’ve been dragging my heels, I already have orders for 20 books! I have a friend who is dying for me to do a squirrel book…so….this may be it ?!? Think it’s worthy?? Let me know :)

Lordy, yes, I think the squirrel tales would be a wonderful book. Can you imagine a child’s delight reading about the squirrel and the monkey? I can just hear the squeals of laughter. Give it a shot. You really do have the sensibilities required for this kind of writing and the photographic skills to do it.

  25. Hi,
Nitwit drivers, hunger, no chocolate, Kings, monkeys and of course baldy, what a story, I loved it, full of adventure from the animal kingdom all from your woods. You have made my day.

    April 12, 2012 at 7:28 pm

    • LOL! I’m glad I made your day! I I mean, all those things rolled into one blog..it’s almost like Harry Potter had a nightmare!

Pam and Sammy (who keeps staring at the computer screen whenever the squirrel is on it…..LOL)

    April 12, 2012 at 5:56 pm

    • heeheehee,,,you’re right,,never a dull moment! GeorgeWeaver thinks this has the makings of a book…think I’m gonna go for it! :) BUT have to get my second book out first…about Bob the horse,,should be ready in ten weeks if I would just get moving!

      • I think it would be a fabulous book….I’m a writer too – one mystery novel and one kids book of fables taking place in a magic forest – am about to tackle another kids book about a colony of feral cats living in the same magic forest. But Baldy’s story is ABSOLUTELY book material…..Get Bob’s story done then move on to the next and the next…!

        Pam

  30. This should really be a TV show. It’s far more entertaining than most I’ve seen. ;)

    • hahahaha! So glad that you brake for squirrels AND monkeys!! Now you really should have a seat-belt attached to that chair..and a helmet wouldn’t be a bad idea either! :)
