FROM THE RIDICULOUS TO THE SUBLIME
Alright first off, here is my bald-headed little buddy……looks like a hunting
accident to me. Or as I said before, male pattern baldness. So for those of you
who have to slow down to stare at traffic accidents..take one quick look and then
look away!
And for those of you who just loved “The Flight Crew”, here they are with
a few of their friends.Yes, these images were all taken within a few days
of each other. Welcome to our wacky weather!
So after a day of burying you all under a mountain of posts….I’m going to
shut up for awhile and give you a break.

They’re gorgeous birds!
March 31, 2012 at 1:16 am
love those red cardinals! Is that what they are? And the wee squirrel. At least it doesn’t seem to be bothering him.
March 27, 2012 at 1:20 pm
It is a cardinal! The squirrels scare the birds a little, but they never try to hurt them.

So you’re another Buckeye! The birds are named after the color of the vestments of Roman Catholic cardinals (source: Wikipedia)
March 16, 2012 at 8:28 pm
I’m actually a Hoosier! Do we share the same state bird?

We DO share a state Bird: http://www.statesymbolsusa.org/
I never knew that our next-door neighbors claimed the same bird!

Nia, directed me here, Suzanne, She says that you’re a little “crazy” like her, but, just like Nia, you’re no birdbrain! I especially liked the cardinals–our state bird here in Ohio.

I’ll look for it!
March 5, 2012 at 10:37 pm
I like all the cardinal photos, but the last one with the ghostly blue jay behind, looking a bit like an owl swooping down on them, is quite scary. The birds are beautiful. The cardinals look like decorations on the tree.
March 4, 2012 at 7:13 pm
What a great way to describe that,,”like decorations on the tree”. Wonderful!
March 4, 2012 at 10:15 pm
truly a pleasure to look at your beautiful pictures.
March 3, 2012 at 10:32 pm
I’m so glad you enjoyed them! Thanks for stopping in!
March 3, 2012 at 11:01 pm
Your blog design is so striking. Great background for the photos. Nice shots
March 3, 2012 at 2:57 pm
THANK YOU!
March 3, 2012 at 3:12 pm
The cardinal is the state bird of North Carolina. We saw them all the time when I was growing up there. You are right about their shyness. My son-in-law was stalking one with his camera for a long time last year.
I must warn you. My husband caught a squirrel in a tree when he was a kid. The squirrel ate up both his hands before he could turn it loose. The hat is a really sweet idea. Just don’t try to put it on Mr. Squirrel…
You girls make me smile. How wonderful it is to share your ideas and your enthusiasm!
March 3, 2012 at 5:53 am
OH don’t worry! We actually had a “rescue” baby squirrel when I was a child and I saw how wicked those teeth are! That’s just awful about your poor husband..that must have been SO painful..and SCARY!
I’m glad you’re smiling…humor is one of my favorite things…I love people happy!
March 3, 2012 at 1:48 pm

March 2, 2012 at 8:03 pm
Thank you Mona,
They’re like little pieces of art work, flying through the sky.
March 2, 2012 at 7:37 pm
Baldy may need ointment as Yoshizen indicated, but he looks like he’s not missed any meals lately. Or maybe she is great with pups? BTW I preferred the more creative explanations – rival gangs maybe and that’s the identifying ‘colors’? A fashionista with an unfortunate style sense? Me with too much time on my hands?
Lovely photos. And thankyou for stopping by my blog.
March 2, 2012 at 4:43 pm
LOL!! I used to cut all of the hair off of my barbie dolls. The only way to grow my hair out was to cut the grass in the yard !?! He’s sitting in a tree right now “cussing out” a cardinal…could it have been a mob attack by the flock of cardinals, and a scalping took place?
March 2, 2012 at 7:19 pm

Hi,
Very nice photos, the birds are gorgeous, I love the one in the snow with the peanut very cute indeed.
March 2, 2012 at 9:52 am
I’m thinking of providing another peanut festival tomorrow.
March 2, 2012 at 2:02 pm
Fabulous pictures. Coming from the UK these birds are new to me. Beautiful!
March 2, 2012 at 9:25 am
They are beautiful, but can be aggressive. You can really hear them coming too. They have a very harsh cry.
March 2, 2012 at 2:03 pm
absolutely stunning photo’s
March 2, 2012 at 9:10 am
I love a snowy day when you combine it with birds!
March 2, 2012 at 2:04 pm
I used to have a cardinal in my backyard in Boston, but I could never get a good shot. Congrats!
March 2, 2012 at 8:28 am
Thank you! They’re a real challenge. I think they have to be one of the most camera shy birds. They see every movement and then it’s bye-bye birdie.
March 2, 2012 at 2:06 pm
I love the little blue jay and his smorgasbord in the snow!
March 2, 2012 at 7:22 am
He was SO happy!
March 2, 2012 at 7:34 pm
Love the Cardinals. The blue jay is pefect. TFS.
Regards Florence.
March 2, 2012 at 6:59 am
I LOVE your ROOSTER!!
March 2, 2012 at 7:37 pm
Oh, no, his hair loss was not caused by a mechanical rub-off, but
more likely a skin trouble or may be parasite. = needs medical ointment.
What a poor guy. ( I’ve seen a cat with similar symptom before)
In contrast, what a beautiful birds pictures !!!
March 2, 2012 at 4:01 am
I think I agree, poor little guy needs some ointment.
Thank you for the compliment on the birds!
March 2, 2012 at 5:10 am
Love these photos. I love birds and used to feed them and have all sorts come to the feeder until my daughter brought home a cat. Cardinals and Blue Jays are beautiful birds.
March 2, 2012 at 4:01 am
They really are beautiful..sorry to hear that the cat scared off the birds..Our neighbor cats chase the birds sometimes.
March 2, 2012 at 5:11 am
I appreciate you trudging through the snow to get these. Thanks for sharing.
March 2, 2012 at 3:57 am
March 2, 2012 at 5:12 am
Beautiful birds, beautiful photographs. I had such visitors outside my windows. They always fly away when I move to the window.
March 2, 2012 at 3:55 am
I use a VERY long lens
(And here’s my secret…it makes everyone who knows me laugh) I have cammo
fabric covering our sliding glass doors in the bedroom!
My poor husband!
March 2, 2012 at 5:13 am
Camo is perfect. My hunter son-in-law has a camo cover with leaves and tree branches and all kinds of stuff actually stuck on it. He wears it often in the woods. In a photo, I could not find his image without really searching. Camo works!
March 3, 2012 at 5:57 am
They never know I’m there!!
March 3, 2012 at 1:45 pm
Did you take these fabulous shots of the squirrel & birds? Just delightful!
March 2, 2012 at 3:52 am
Yes I did take the photos. I take all of the images that you see on my blog
March 2, 2012 at 5:14 am
